WilfriedB
Same as the above comments, I cannot believe customer satisfaction is "low priority". If there is an issue with slow load of big catalogs, why don't leave it to the user to decide?
Alexius
Â Why is satisfying a user a low priority please? Â Â Â Adding this behavior was satisfying a customer. Â Â Â

Paul Barrett
OK so that customer with a team of 50 users has CHOSEN to have a massive catalog when they could have segmented it. Their choice, their problem. Why do the rest of us have to suffer because of the poor choices of ONE customer. Â Why don't you suggest to that customer that they come onto this forum and debate the issue with those of us who now have to live with the consequences of their poor decisions. Â Meanwhile WE put our ideas on here and discuss them. And we go with the majority. We wouldn't have said NO to their suggestion but we sure as hell would have proposed that it be a user option - not exactly rocket science is it? Â Do you not want the rest of us as users anymore?
Daria Kotilainen
Hello,  The guys have fixed the sorting issue in the latest build.  1. You need to install Daminion 5.5.1736.  2. Go to this path on your PC: C:\Users\USER_NAME\AppData\Roaming\Daminion Software\Daminion\1.0  3. Open the file "Settings.xml"  4. Find the string "<setting name="RestoreSorting" serializeAs="String"> "  5. By default the value of this string s the following: <setting name="RestoreSorting" serializeAs="String"><value /></setting>  6. You need to edit this string to get the following result: <setting name="RestoreSorting" serializeAs="String"><value>True</value></setting> 7. Save changes  8. Restart Daminion. Sorting order will be preserved since now.
WilfriedB
This is great news! Is there also a standalone version of build 1736? The link only shows the file for Server setup.

fhahn
Can't wait to take a look at this. Â I don't know how many times I have been working away at my photos, can't find something, and then realize I have to change the sorting from None to something else, mainly file name or creation time. Â Thanks. Â Frank Hahn

polaramike
Hi! Â Thanks, that worked - but I wouldn't call it a "solution". Â A *real* solution would've been to make it selectable in the preferences. And it woouldn't be such an effort to add it to that dialog box - maybe we'll see that in the future? lintujuh
Hi! Â The download link to the server version (1736) returns Not Found Error (404). Â -Juha

aebe_ch
Fantastic, I have searched for months in Daminion how to persist that setting - figured Reset Window Layout would implicate it's being saved on shutdown. I believe this should be made configurable by UI, but this saves me so much time, great job ! Â

exterminador
Hi! Thanks! Regards Hello, try to select the desired sorting and close the catalog via File>Close Catalog. The thing is that we save the settings either at logout or by closing the catalog. If you just close the application, the settings will not be saved. Users of the lite version do not have a logout button, so there may be problems with saving.
