Hello, try to select the desired sorting and close the catalog via File>Close Catalog. The thing is that we save the settings either at logout or by closing the catalog. If you just close the application, the settings will not be saved. Users of the lite version do not have a logout button, so there may be problems with saving.

Same here, that worked. But please Daria, why can't this be solved in a more user-friendly way ?

Meanwhile I am on 9.0.0 build 3406. In my settings I have

      <setting name="RestoreSorting" serializeAs="String">
        <value>True</value>
      </setting>

But, the sort order is gone each time I restart Daminion client.

Hi Daria,

thank you for your reply. The workaround you suggested isn't working properly. Once I managed to set the sort order to "Filename" it will always be on "Filename" after a restart of the application. Sometimes you change the sort order and forget to logout from the catalog in order to save the setting and the chosen sort order is gone. This is not very user friendly.

I can't understand why it is so difficult (or seemingly impossible) to remember such a setting. You have to consider that this issue is now more than 7 years old!

Best regards,
Volker

Since version 10.0 the option to sort is gone. It's "none" and grayed out and I have no chance to change it. When I use some kind of filters, the sorting works properly. But when I remove all filters, it's "none" and gray again.

Please fix that. I don't want to use filters all the time. Thanks!

Kind regards,

Rupert

Ok, I just tested it with a query that selects all my photos (60k) and the sorting takes less than a second. So can you please add a flag or something, where people with strong computers or small databases can re-activate the sort for all pictures?

Hi Rupert,

This is the updated functionality in the new version. If you still need to sort the whole catalog, please expand the folders tag, select the top folder and the sort will be available again. Unfortunately, the flag cannot be added now, but we can consider it for the future
