rene
Dear Community, our Daminion Server runs very slow. Is there anyone that could Login via TeamViewer and check on how to improve the Speed of loading full size Images? adjusting the Thumbnail size etc? thank you
Daria Kotilainen
Hi Rene, the loading of images in full screen depends on where the files are stored and on the size of the files, thumbnail size has nothing to do with this process, unfortunately What version are you running? Have you noticed such an issue before? have you recently upgraded? Kind regards Daria
rene
Hello Daria, the issue was Always there. Maybe our Server is just too weak

rene
so i have to get a new server?
Daria Kotilainen
Please try to extend your RAM, 8gb at least should improve the situation Kind regards, Daria

I had the impression, using an SSD for Windows, all programs and thumbnail cach (while media items and PostgreSQL reside on a traditional hard disk) brought the biggest improvement in my case. But I also have a dual core 2.2GHz processor i5-5200U, which is more powerful than Rene's D510.
rene
Thanks Daria, sadly that machine does not allow more RAM. Than I have to get a new server. My problem is: The server is residing in the cellar and running 24/7 therefore I need it with much power BUT low energy consumption

You write there: i7, i9 (Xeon) processor I found this machine: They write XEON E3, would that be ok?
Daria Kotilainen
Hi Rene, this machine has 8 GB of RAM. We recommend at least 16 and SSD. Apart from that, the machine itself is ok Kind regards Daria
Uwe
Hi Rene, how many users (same time) has to work with the server? Regards, Uwe
fhahn
Rene: From what is shown, it looks like that machine only has two cores. XEON processors typically run at a lower clock speed but have more cores. They can also use error correcting memory. I would think an i5 with four cores would be a better choice.
