tscott
Does the new Google AI support facial recognition? The majority of our library consists of photos of people and we need to be able to tag faces for quick searching.
Murat
It does, but we didn't added it into the interface yet (it is in our roadmap altgough).

rene
Hello, wouldn't the Google AI Facial Recognition violate European GDPR Rights by trasmitting the Data (faces, where each Person has it's Right on) to Google Server?

Daria Kotilainen
hi guys, we'll take a look into this Daria
rene
I found an open Source program called Digikam. It is a Standalone Software but offers Facial Recognition and some other interesting features. Maybe it is possible to take the facial recognition feature and implement it into Daminion without having to upload photos to the google cloud. facundooz
I am trying autotagging recognition, but I see that most of the tags are useless to me. Could I "teach" Daminion (or Cloud Vision) to identify just the tags I am interested? In relation to face recognition, It would be relevant to identify just some faces, like Picasa did... ☹️ Thanks, Facundo
Daria Kotilainen
Hi Facundo, Daminion's Auto-Tagging feature automatically recognizes the full contents of the image and tags it respectively. For more specific tags, it would probably be more useful to use manual tagging. We are currently working on facial recognition which will be available approximately in two versions from now. facundooz
Hi Daria, So, if I correct the tags of google, it can't learn from that changes? Facundo
Daria Kotilainen
Can you please describe your case in more details? What image contents do you use? Google can learn, but we use a general database of tags.
facundooz
Hi Daria, I am doing a try with several pictures (jpg files) about meetings, graduation ceremonies, etc. It would be great if I could teach which tags are relevant, o recognize some people of a group. Instead of that, Google assign tags that are not relevant for me at all.
Daria Kotilainen
Hi Facundo, It will not be possible to teach it to recognize people within the AI-labels, but we can see if we can make anything with the labels themselves. Can you please send me the screenshots of your contents by email? Also, the screenshot of a few images showing what tags have been recognized automatically, and what tags you would like to be assigned? Kind regards Daria
