derbay Posted October 2, 2014 Report Posted October 2, 2014 Would it be possible to add a feature to rotate the images within Daminion? Thank you. Quote
Uwe Posted October 2, 2014 Report Posted October 2, 2014 Hello derbay, right click: Rotation 90/180. From my point of view Daminion may not/doesn't have manipulate the photo. It's a DAM and not a program to change the file. There other programs (PS...) Regards, Uwe Quote
Jacal Posted October 2, 2014 Report Posted October 2, 2014 I also think that this is already done, as it should be. Quote
derbay Posted October 2, 2014 Author Report Posted October 2, 2014 I have just noticed that we can do it under actions menu. Thx Quote
kalain Posted October 3, 2014 Report Posted October 3, 2014 From my point of view Daminion may not/doesn't have manipulate the photo. It's a DAM and not a program to change the file. There other programs (PS...) That's a bit rude. This means if you find a picture with wrong orientation in Daminion, you have to : - close daminion, - open PS (or Gimp or whatever) to rotate image - close PS, ... - open Daminion and may be make another import. mmmh! that's not very cool. Better than doing this with Daminion itself. (event if it's supposed to be only a DAM...) Quote
Uwe Posted October 3, 2014 Report Posted October 3, 2014 Yes, you are right. It sounds a little bit to hard. And a lossless rotation is not a manipulation. And for RAW files it's just an entry in the metadata. Regards, Uwe Quote
Jacal Posted October 3, 2014 Report Posted October 3, 2014 It seems that Daminion only writes to -exif:Orientation, when image is rotated. That is how I have always been doing this manually, when it was necessary. No need for lossless rotation; this is to be done by a graphic editor. Have a nice day! Quote

Murat Posted October 6, 2014 Report Posted October 6, 2014 As Jacal said Daminion updates the EXIF:Orientation tag while "image rotation". That is fast, loss-less and recognized by majority of external programs. Quote
