Uwe Posted August 19, 2020 Report Posted August 19, 2020 Hello, how can I use the format "link"? A created tag doesn't appear in the Tags Panel, only in the Properties Panel. Regards, Uwe Quote
WilfriedB Posted August 19, 2020 Report Posted August 19, 2020 Does "link" just mean a link to a file on the server or any kind of URL? The latter sounds very interesting to me. Over time I found several reasons for storing URLs in tags for an image. Quote
Daria Kotilainen Posted August 19, 2020 Report Posted August 19, 2020 Hi guys, It should be a clickable URL. For example, an URL to the this same file published on a client's website , social media or in an online store. It can only be displayed n the properties panel. Kind regards Daria Quote
Uwe Posted August 19, 2020 Author Report Posted August 19, 2020 Hi Daria, thanks, what I don't understand is: on a web site of a client is somewhere an URL pointing to this photo. How does the photo in my catalog gets the URL? Regards, Uwe Quote

In fact I am doing so since several years,by copying and pasting the URL immediately after uploading. Then, I wrote a program which opens the browser, if it finds valid URLs in one or mor of those tags. I can imagine something automatic only, if the Daminion client would have a function to upload images to some Web sites. However, for Google photos, my program uses Google APIs to search my account based on the file name. Getting this to work was quite complex, but it does work automatically now. Quote
Uwe Posted August 20, 2020 Author Report Posted August 20, 2020 (edited) Now I can see it. I didn't see that there was another input field. Possibly a problem with the contrast on the screen. Edited August 20, 2020 by Uwe Quote
Daria Kotilainen Posted August 20, 2020 Report Posted August 20, 2020 Hi Wilfried, yes, this is correct, the URL should be input manually Daria Quote
Katerina Karpenko Posted August 20, 2020 Report Posted August 20, 2020 Hello, Also, it could be the link to a local folder or network source. For example: C:\Users\USER_NAME\Documents\Pictures or \\192.168.XX.XX\Storage\Photo Quote
