Hi Uwe, we enabled support of network paths in Folder to Store Thumbnails. However, it is still recommended to use a local folder on the server for this purposes, especially if the web interface with full-screen previews and downloads is used (these two commands are visibly slower with a network path as a thumbs folder)

Is a mapped network drive going to perform slower?  How about an installed second SDD?  Spec'ing out our server machine now, and looking for the best advice.

in terms of previewing speed, a second SSD installed on the server to store thumbnails would be better than a network drive . The original files can be stored on network devices.

- fixed a bug when the manual sort order did not preserve after 20th element

- fixed an API issue which resulted in Opening by Direct Links not working in the Daminion Connector for Adobe

- fixed a bug with searching for an exact phrase match in Text in Documents

Running 3443, I'm still getting odd behavior when sorting a large collection (100+), which made me wonder.. could it be be due to my files being "read only"?  Do I need to ensure they're all writable before sorting?

Are the files still lose their positions in collections? 

 

When position #do such file take? e.g. 20th, 25th, 38+, or is it always random?

Here are the fixes and new options: 

 

Fixed a bug with Vc_redist distribution: If you install the client on a PC where Vc_redist is not installed, then admin rights will be required. If it is already installed, it will not install again. 

Fixed a bug with transparency and shadow color when exporting PDFs to JPEG

In this build operations on folders (delete, move, rename) are also made available: new Select All and path conversion for macs when importing by direct link.
