Add Files / Rescan Folders Progress

When you are adding larges batches of files or rescanning large folder structures you need more information on the current progress than is provided by:

I'd like to know which folder is currently being processed and which file, at least.

 

Is there a way?

Hello Paul,

 

sure, just right-click the button with rotating circle and you will see the rescan report being updated in real time.

 

 

To check the report once the rescanning is complete, go to Catalog > Latest Rescan Report

OK, so the import process seemed to be hung up on one item. I cancelled and dis a rescan and it got stuck too. I tight clicked to run the rescan report so I could see which file was causing the problem, and Daminion froze. I left it to sit and eventually I got this error:

I tried again. Same result.

 

BTW, a report is great but it would be really nice if the current file being processed could be shown on that status line. There's plenty of room:

Hello Paul,

 

Please click Details, copy the error text and send me by email, I'll take a look at the error report.

 

Latest Rescan Report option appears under Catalog right after the rescan is complete :)

I can't click anything, Daminion is frozen. So even if I knew where 'Details' was I couldn't click it. :)

 

Eventually the app will bomb out wit an Exception error. The last one I captured was:

If I click continue Daminion continues to hand until anothe excpetion error occurs, so I have no choice but to Quit,

 

Next time i load Daminion I get a message that the catalog closed unexpecterly but it then opens OK. I start a new rescan and Daminion hangs again. You know the rest.... :)
