Connection to Server Lost

I have been getting a seemingly random error that says "The connection to the server has been lost." (See attachment.) I check the Daminion server and it is still running. If I press the "Reconnect" button the client reconnects to the server. I happened a lot in 844 but I didn't report it then. It is still happening in 854, so I thought I'd let you know.

Is this error appeared after searching for files with "business" filename?

Could you please send me the server log files right after this issue appears again?

Yes, during the example I posted previously I had been searching for "business" in the filename when the server disconnected. But the server disconnects without me doing anything. When the attached log file was produced, I just opened the client and left it sit for about 3 minutes when the server disconnected. It seems that I don't have to be doing anything special. Server Log is attached.

I just installed the most recent version 854 on the Server and on my Laptop.

After upgrading the Database to 9.2 i tried to access the Server Catalog from my Laptop.

After double clicking on one file to open it, I get a "Lost Connection to Server" Error. After clicking on reconnect I I loose the connection immideatly again.

please find my log files attached.

Rene, thanks for the information about this bug! Could you please:

- Stop Daminion Server

- Remove Daminion Server logs (Admin Panel > Help > Show Logs)

- Launch Daminion Server again

- Try to reproduce the issue with disconnecting from the Server

- Send me the Server logs

I just noticed the following 1.8GB file on my C: drive that seems to be associated with the crash of build 860 that I reported yesterday. In case it might be of any use, I am placing this file in my folder on your FTP directory. It's uploading as I post this.

"C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\WER\ReportQueue\WERA5E0.tmp.hdmp"

Hey Murat, the same problem after installing 860.

attached the logfile from my server and I send a bug report from my Laptop.

My Server's Client Software is still not able to connect to the database.

My Laptop connects but loses the shortly after connecting.

Thanks Murat!

Hi Murat,

Is there any fix yet for this problem with the server connection being lost? The issue seems to be erratic. Sometimes it doesn't occur at all and other times it is hit and miss. Today I'm trying to find some files and the Daminion Client losses the connection to the server every single time that I click on a file. It is very frustrating. Daminion is pretty much unusable today. Sure hope you can fix this issue soon.

Thanks, Mardon

Hi guys! Can you please check the 870 build.

Looking Good! :)

I just did a quick check of build 870 by performing a search that used to always cause loss of the server connection with build 860. It worked fine with build 870. The server stayed connected. This was a very quick check. I'll do more later but wanted to report my initial good results. :)

- Press Win + R keys

- type in the following:

"c:\program files\daminion software\daminion\daminion.exe -log_enabled"

- press ok

- press Ctrl + F12 (you will a folder for logs)

- try to reproduce the issue

- send me the log files

Hey Murat, did what you asked, but the log file of my laptop is empty. I can include the server log file, but that shouldn't have changes right.
