rene
Hey Murat, doesn't the Cameras save their serialnumber within the pictures? If so, it would be great to have a tag called Serialnumber, like the Camera Model etc, unchanchable. thanks, rene!

rene
Thanks kalain, so it would be great if Daminion would show and use these information as well. e.g. If my parents and I take pictures with our iphones and upload them to the server, the server could say this picture has been taken with the iPhone of Person 1, etc, I would like that info. rene
kalain
This serial number comes from a DSLR camera.(Nikon) I'm not sure if this infos (serial number) is also available from an Iphone. Should be checked.
Uwe
Hello, not even all Canon cameras have a serial number in the metadata: 5D: yes, G10: no. I don't find a Serial Number tag in the metadata of the iPhone 4s (ExifTool, XnView). One can set the Owner Tag in the Canon cameras with the Canon software. I use presets for the Import and there are Author and Copyright Tag already defined. That's ok for me to know who made the photos. Sedat
In addition of what Uwe said. Afaik the serial and some more information are stored in the maker notes section. From my experience, these maker notes are only available within the master files which are coming right out of the camera. You will most likely lose them, when you generate a Jpeg from a RAW file because most RAW converters are just ignoring the maker notes. AT the end you have a RAW with a serial and a corresponding Jpeg without it. Because of this inconsistency I gave up to pay much attention on the maker notes. rene
indeed, if those information would only be present in the master files it would be pretty much senseless to have such a feature, but in addition the the duplicated finder, Daminion could find the filles processed from the source (exact pixel and locations) and than ransfer those info
