Stephen
When I sort my images each with a filename of a 16 long hex number the order displayed is not what I would expect. Is there something else causing the mis-sort.
Daria Kotilainen
Hi Stephen, Not sure I get what is wrong with this sort order... The first character is the same for this three images, then the second is compared and goes as C, then E, then 0. You can change it from ascending to descending. Kind regards, Daria
lintujuh
But aren't numbers before the alphabet? So the last file should be there first.
Daria Kotilainen
Depending on the sort direction. But again, it is a character by character comparison.
Stephen
Thank you for your replies but here is a further example. Selected 21 images, sorted by Filename and this was the order. To make sure I was expecting the order as numbers then letters I checked to make sure that ASCII order is that i.e. by numbers then letters
Daria Kotilainen
Stephen, could you please display your files in table view and send the screenshot? it is very inconvenient to analyze the attached screenshot.
Stephen
With apologies - Screenshot as requested
Daria Kotilainen
Thank you Stephen! I have discussed this with my colleagues: Daminion uses natural sorting in the filenames and therefore the files are displayed in this way in your case - because of the selected naming scheme which is a hexadecimal numbers.
