Daminion and Dates

Is "Creation DateTime" the only date-time property Daminion is using? I have many digitized older photo's and would like to give them a "Creation DateTime"-property (the date/time the photo was digitized) but i also want to give them a "DateTime Original"-property (the date/time the original photo was taken) that also is saved as metadata.

How can i do this?

EXIF Original DateTime field is mapped to the Daminion's Creation Datetime tag.

Daminion Creation Datetime mapping rules

Read

  • EXIF_DateTimeOriginal
  • XMP_EXIF_DateTimeOriginal
  • IPTC_DateTimeCreated
  • XMP_Photoshop_DateCreated
  • Video_CreateDate
  • File_CreationTime

Write

  • XMP_Photoshop_DateCreated
  • Video_CreateDate
  • IPTC_DateTimeCreated
  • EXIF_DateTimeOriginal
  • File_CreationTime
  • XMP_EXIF_DateTimeOriginal

Daminion's Mapping Rules:

https://www.daminion.net/files/daminion-metadata-mapping-rules.pdf

After changing your Daminion Creation Tags you need to write it into the image metadata. You can do this manually via Item > Actions > Write Tag to File command or it can be written automatically if the Sync option is turned On.

After that you can check whether the metadata was properly written via Item > Actions > Show Metadata command

The mapping rules can not be changed. But you can change the creation datetime in the right panel.

I do not understand.

At the right i see a creation datetime. Ok. I can change that to the date the original (paper) photo was taken.

But were can i put the date/time the original (paper) photo was digitized?

I only see one date/time in the right panel. Where are the other date/times?

Hello Kees,

I suggest to use the ExifTool command to adjust the date metadata not modified by Daminion.

1. menu->Item-Open with...->Define external Tools

2. Define the ExifTool as the application and then enter the command line to be used by the ExifTool

E.g. I shift Date and Time dependig if there is a difference between other cameras used at the same time
