Uwe Posted February 13, 2014 Report Posted February 13, 2014 Hello mr.peterjohansson, please check this file with ExifTool or if already imported in Daminion with the action: Show all Metadata. You will see that there aren't any EXIF, IPTC, XMP etc. data that Daminion can read to rename the file in the import. Regards, Uwe Quote
mr.peterjohansson Posted February 14, 2014 Author Report Posted February 14, 2014 Hello Uwe Yes i have checked that and found that EXIF, IPTC and XMP is missing :/ But i have also found: FILE File Modification Date/Time 2005:01:03 13:27:34+01:00 I thought Daminion could read this!?? Uwe Posted February 14, 2014 Report Posted February 14, 2014 Hello Peter, I don't know if this is still the current status but here you can see that only metadata of the image and not the data of the Windows File System are used to read the DateTime. mr.peterjohansson Posted February 14, 2014 Author Report Posted February 14, 2014 Ok..Thanks Uwe..then i know Is there any workaround..other software to change/edit filedate to metadata? Regards Peter Quote
Uwe Posted February 14, 2014 Report Posted February 14, 2014 Hello Peter, yes, you can use the ExifTool ( http://www.sno.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/ ). Either by command line or by the ExifTool GUI ( http://www.heise.de/download/exiftool-gui.html ). You can call the ExifTool to rename the image in Daminion: right-click on item->Open with...->Define External Tools...->Viewer->Add, here you have to enter the command line for the ExifTool. If this is done you can call your personal rename function in the "Open with..." action. The last step is to call the "Rescan Folders" action to remove the items with the old name and to import the renamed items. If you are not familiar with the ExifTool, you can send a private message to me to find a way to help you (E-Mail, Skype, team Viewer). Regards, Uwe Quote
Jacal Posted February 14, 2014 Report Posted February 14, 2014 I have set ExifToolGUI as my first external tool, since I don't always want Daminion to write metadata. (Which I should explain in another topic.) In ExifToolGUI ( I suggest you to read this ) it is very easy to change exif dates - DateTimeOriginal, CreateDate and ModifyDate - and file modification date. In menu it is under "Modify". Quote
