rene
Hi there, It’s been a while since I last worked with photos, and I’ve just started again—but I’ve run into a few issues with duplicate detection. Duplicate Display Behavior When I click "Show Duplicates," I expected to see one image followed by its suggested duplicates. Instead, it shows various unrelated images. Is this the intended behavior, or should it group duplicates together? Advanced Duplicate Sorting Would it be possible to implement more refined duplicate handling? For example: Prioritizing larger files: If duplicates differ in size (dimensions or file size), display the larger version first—especially useful for scanned analog images where higher resolution is preferable. File type prioritization: When duplicates include different formats (e.g., RAW + JPEG), show the original RAW file first, followed by derived formats like JPEG. This would make managing duplicates much more efficient. Are these features already available, or could they be added in the future? Thanks for your help! Daria Kotilainen
Hi Rene, Quote When I click "Show Duplicates," I expected to see one image followed by its suggested duplicates. Instead, it shows various unrelated images. Is this the intended behavior, or should it group duplicates together? Yes, please set the sorting to None, In that case the files will be sorted by hash value and the duplicated will be shown next to each other. Quote Prioritizing larger files: If duplicates differ in size (dimensions or file size), display the larger version first—especially useful for scanned analog images where higher resolution is preferable. If duplicated significantly differ in size or format, they are considered similar images, not duplicates. Please use the Similar Images saved search in that case.
