Oleg.Ross
Starting with this version, the ability to group files is disabled by default in the desktop client. It is recommended to use linking of files to create links between them. For those users who used this feature, it is still possible to enable it via catalog configuration by adding or changing the parameter in the Program Files\Daminion Software\Daminion Server\catalogs.config isSupportItemsGroup="false" to isSupportItemsGroup="true" This is done in favour of search performance, as the feature causes problems even for those who don't use it. In the future it is likely that groups will be converted to file variants.
lintujuh
Should the flag be set in the file at header section common to all catalogs or per individual catalog? I regard grouping as an important feature to remove clutter from the catalog. E.g., a panorama consists of several raw images, developed TIFFs and the final panorama, all these are relevant assets, but only the final panorama is what I want to see per default. You write in your post that in the future the groups will be converted to file variants, can you open the planned functionality.
Uwe
Hello, I use the groups in the same way as described by Juha. I use links when I develop a RAW photo as a TIF to use it in photo books. Some photos are used in different photo books and in different sizes, possibly also in color (color or black and white). This means that there can be links between one RAW photo and several TIFs. These are therefore never grouped. The group function (hide the RAW photos with the final TIF panorama on top) is an elementary function for me.
