[solved] 2344 - Access Control group - file upload

Hello,
A user "friend" is assigned to the access control group "external". This user has limited access rights but can upload files or folders. When he uploads a file, this uploaded file is not assigned to the access control group "external", but to another one, e.g. "internal", for which he has no rights. This means that he cannot see the file he has just uploaded.
Many greetings, Uwe

Hello Katerina,

and the solution is...? 😉

I know that an item can be assigned to many AC groups. I would like to have an import option so that the user can assign AC group(s), of course only those groups for which he is authorised.

Hi Katerina,

this is ok. But: in my case the user is "friend" and is assigned to the AC Group "external". He has the permission to manage AC Groups. After the import of a file he can see in the AC Group panel: public, user "friend", AC Group "external". But the imported file is assined to AC Group "internal" by the import action and the user can't see the "internal" items. Either one has a popup to assign the AC Group before the import or all imported items are assined to public autotomatically.

We can make a TV session to check it in my system.

Regards, Uwe

Hello,

The cause of the behaviour described in the example in my system was: at the upload folder level, the AC group was assigned to "internal" and was therefore included in all uploaded photos.
One can assign AC groups to corresponding folders and thus each user can select the folder to which he wants to upload his files. This also ensures that only the users who are assigned to the AC group see the uploaded files.

Thanks to Katerina,
regards, Uwe
