PostgreSQL insecure

Hello,

 

Daminion Server installs PostgreSQL 32bit version 9.0.3.1127. Secunia PSI detects this version as insecure. There are newer versions on the PostgreSQL server (9.1.3.1 for 32 and 64bit Windows).

I don't use PostgreSQL for other applications than Daminion.

My questions:

1. can I update the PostgreSQL versions independent from Daminion?

2. Can I use the 64 bit PostgreSQL instead of the 32bit version that comes with Daminion - I guess I can't but want to be sure. I use Win7-64bit but Daminion is still 32bit application.

1. Yes, you can. We don't use any version specific queries

2. We don't test it with PostgreSQL 64-bit version. But I'll check it and let you know about the result.

Unfortunately there is a strict binding of Daminion Server to PostgreSQL 9.0. This might be fixed in the future Daminion versions.
