Uwe
Hello, If I move a subtag "SUB1" (e.g. MAIN->SUB1) in the Catalog Tags Panel to another main tag (MAIN1->SUB1): the existing EXIF:XPKeywords tag of the files is not updated and has still the old subtag information (MAIN->SUB1). All other tags in the files (XMP, IPTC) regarding the keywords are updated with the new tag hierarchy information. Regards, Uwe
Daria Kotilainen
Hi Uwe, this is a known issue, registered about 4 months ago. Unfortunately, I cannot tell you when it will be fixed 😞 Kind regards Daria
Daria Kotilainen
Hi Uwe, as discussed by Skype, the only way for now would be using EXIF tool command to clear EXIF:XPKeywords and XMP:Keywords Kind regards, Daria
Uwe
Hello, It's working now with build 2344. But there is a difference in the metadata. The tags in "XMP:Hierarchical Subject" are separated by ", " (comma and space) but in Exif:XPKeywords the tags are separated by ";". If I call the ExifTool command "-overwrite_original "-exif:XPKeywords<xmp:HierarchicalSubject" {Filename}" in the "open with..." action both tags and the separators ", " are equal but this leads to problems when you call "read tags from file" or "Rescan folders". you get "to many and wrong" Keyword tags. One has to use the ExifTool command: "-overwrite_original -sep ";" "-exif:XPKeywords<xmp:HierarchicalSubject" {Filename}" because of the different syntax of the XPKeywords tag. Regards, Uwe Edited January 5, 2021 by Uwe ";" and not "*" and command line ExifTool -sep ";"
