Initially the collections were created to help users make a selection o files from different folders, arrange according their preferences (there is an option to manually sort files) and save as PDF contact sheet. Another function was sharing among workers who might use the colleactions to their needs. The latets function has been recently changed with Shared collections in the web client - an easier way of ahering by sending URLs. this is way the regular colelaction are only available in the desktop client.
