Egon Posted November 14, 2017 Report Share Posted November 14, 2017 Hello, 5.5 (1726) I have have done "Sync->Read Tags from File". After this my catalog was massively damaged. All tags with a "\" (category, project, keyword) has been changed. 1. Category: See Cat.jpg The tags in in the red mark are ok. The tags in the blue mark where added by Daminion. See Cat_2.jpg The tags in in the red mark are ok. The tags in the blue mark where added by Daminion. 2. Project: See Project.jpg The tag has changed from 642 046/546 to 642 046\546. Thats wy the description in DSCF1313.JPG (see Cat_2.jpg) is also not correct (Above the Thumbnails is displayed the procect tag). 3. Keyword: See keyw.jpg The tags in in the red mark are ok. The tags in the blue mark where added by Daminion. 4. Search: See AdvSearch.jpg and AdvSearch_2.jpg It is not possible to find items with "\" in any tag. Daria Kotilainen Posted November 14, 2017 Report Share Posted November 14, 2017 Hi Egon, This happened because there is a default setting in Daminion to treat forward slash as delimiter. It can be found in Edit > Preferences > Reading metadata or Administration > Preferences > reading metadata (in case of server installation) Please be careful and check the setting before reading or writing tags from or to files. Egon Hi Egon, Because the Project tag is the tag that can be assigned only once (you cannot assign multiple projects to one image) - this is why you see ValueA\ValueB in one line in the Properties panel. In the tags panel it will be displayed as normal two level hierarchy. When reading metadata Daminion recognized forward slash as hierarchy delimiter, however, the internal delimiter for hierarchies is a backslash, so it was changed to correspond the database rules of building hierarchies.
