Moving a catalog

After I created my last catalog, I now would prefer to have it located in a different place in my directory tree.

 

Can it be moved and what would be the process?

Which files need to be moved together?

What, if anything do I need to do to 'update' everything to the new location?

Hello dimbulb,

 

if this is a local catalog, e.g. "MyCatalog.dmc" and your files and thumbnails are located under the same root folder of your catalog:

- copy all of the files and folders of this root folder to the new location

- on the new location: double click on the catalog "MyCatalog.dmc"

OR

- lunch Daminion client, Menu "File->Open Catalog" select "MyCatalog.dmc" on the new location

The catalog is local, but, unfortunately, the files are not in the same tree as the catalog file

as far as I know there are relative paths to the files. That means, as long as the relative path is ok on the new location it should work.

If not, you can use the Relink Folders... action: "Right click on the folder->Relink Folders..."
