Luemmel Posted April 23, 2014 Report Posted April 23, 2014 Every time when I try to view a Tiff in fullscreen mode, Daminion takes a very long time untill the picture is rendered (approx. 50 seconds!). Is there any option to speed up this process? Regards, Luemmel Quote
Murat Posted April 23, 2014 Report Posted April 23, 2014 Every time when I try to view a Tiff in fullscreen mode, Daminion takes a very long time untill the picture is rendered (approx. 50 seconds!). Is there any option to speed up this process? Unfortunately TIFF files are opened without a scaling factor like in case of the JPEG files when we can open images with 1/2, 1/4 or 1/8 scale factors. We are looking for another image processing library to handle TIFF files more faster. Quote
Murat Posted April 23, 2014 Report Posted April 23, 2014 Just in case, could you please send me one of your TIFF files which are slowly displayed in the Full Screen mode. We'll re-check the issue with your image. Quote

rene Posted April 23, 2014 Report Posted April 23, 2014 because of this library issue we can't export files over 300mb as well right? Quote
Murat Posted April 23, 2014 Report Posted April 23, 2014 Yep. This is of the limutations of the library. Quote

What about the standard .net procedure? http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa969817%28v=vs.110%29.aspx Otherwise: Many programs use libtiff: http://www.libtiff.org/ Regards, Luemmel Quote
Murat Posted May 16, 2014 Report Posted May 16, 2014 The speed of opening large files was was optimized a bit. We also plan to add 4MP offline JPEG previews for large files so instead of rendering the huge 200Mb TIFF file Daminion will quickly load the small JPEG preview with a size that will be enough to display it on the display's resolution (usually 2-4 MP) when "Fit Image" mode will be selected. rene Posted May 23, 2014 Report Posted May 23, 2014 Indeed a solution to create "thumbnails" of every photo for example would be good. this "thumbnail" would than be sent through the network instead of the huge file Quote
