How move catalog+files to a new harddisc

I must install my windos 7 new. I have all my fotos and DAM catalogs on HD "D" and its a partition of the main HD ("C"). I´m afraid, by installing windows the dates on "D" could be deletet. So I want to move all fotos and catalogs to an external HD. What can/must I do that DAM finds all on the new place?

Hi Wolfgang,

I assume you use a local catalog. If you didn't change the default installation you can copy the folder which contains the catalog and your data files to an other place but keep them together! Daminion uses relative paths. After new OS and Daminion installation just open the catalog at its new place or copy them back (the folder with the catalog and the data files) and open the catalog from the Daminion menu.

Hi Uwe - this works not.

What I did:

3 Fotos - Test1, Test2,Test3.jpg were in the path D:/Test an I createt a new catalog in D:/Test. Than I imported the fotos into this Testcatalog. After that I moved "Test" to F: und started Daminion new. I opened the catalog Testcatalog but I saw not the pictures, only a black icon with the old path.

Wolfgang, what Daminion version do you use? It should works in 0.9.8 version. I've just rechecked this option.

Hallo Murat, I use Version 0.9.8 - I will try it again. But I will not after new installing Windows move back all, all catalogues and fotos sould be on a device at an external HD.
