Lens Tag - RAW vs TIF

Hello, 

Why is a different lens tag read depending on the media format? 

Example: CR2 - LensType from the Maker Notes is read:
Lens Type Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM
instead of EXIF:LensModel:
Lens Model EF70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM 

The TIF photo was developed from the CR2.
EXIF:LensModel:
Lens Model EF70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM

The result: different lens tags for the same lens!
