Uploaded files on a network shared volume, v 586

Hello,

I can't enter a network directory in the Administration Panel as Upload Directory (neither as \\xxx\upload_directory nor D:\upload_directory). In v. 583 and previous versions this was possible. See attachment.

Hello,

the Upload folder is not on the server PC. It's a directory on the NAS.

Regards, Uwe

Update: that means, I have to have a local "Dummy" Upload folder that I'll never use for the Upload but is needed for the installation requirements. This folder is shown in the Administration Panel but doesn't have any function, when I work only on NAS network folder. Correct?

Yes. The local "Dummy" Upload folder will be create automatically if any. But if all of your files are located on an external shared storage - this folder will not be used.

If you need to store all your files on an external location just check the "Copy To" option and specify your NAS folder location on the Destination textbox in the Camera Downloader.

You can also import files as is, without copying directly from your NAS folder(s)>
