Full access permissions needed

Hi Daminion-Team!

I have a problem with a network drive, which i want to use to store the media files.

Our global IT saved me some space on a file server, but for security reasons i will not get full access permissions on this drive. I can read, write and alter data.

Now when i use this drive in daminion i get the following error when trying to start up the services:

User 'MyDomain\MyUser' doesn't have enough access rights to '\\myserver\media' folder

Access Rights: Modify, Synchronize

You need to grant full access permissions for 'MyDomain\MyUser' user to '\\myserver\media' folder

Can anyone help me please :-)

Hi Konrad,

Please ask your IT admins to give Daminion serevr logon user full access permissions to the folder '\\myserver\media'

Kind regards,

Daria

As i mentioned before, i will not get full access permissions. I also don't understand why Daminion is needing full access permissions, since the only thing Daminion is doing on this drive is read, write and update. And with the current rights this is possible.

Maybe this is a bug?

Anything new on this?

Konrad,

Alternatively, you can disable full access check in the catalogs.config file located by this path:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Daminion Software\Daminion Server

Change the parameter checkdirsonstart="true" > checkdirsonstart="false"

Thought we cannot guarantee that it won't influence on the work of third-perty libraries...

Kind regards,

Daria
