dariuss
Hello, I would like to install Daminion Server on a Windows Rootserver like this one: https://www.hetzner.de/gb/hosting/produkte_rootserver/windows-standard add about 300 000 photos via the client application or webinterface, and have a dozen people access it via the webinterface. Is this a viable solution or should I look out for something else?

We do have several users who host Daminion Server on the web server instead of the local server and access it via Desktop and Web clients. We ourselves host our demo server on Hetzner :) Kind regards, Daria
Murat
Hello Dariuss, The link you provided above is to obtain Windows Server 2012 R2. You need to obtain it once. You also need to purchase a hosting plan. The minimal one (but very solid configuration) is: https://www.hetzner.de/gb/hosting/produkte_rootserver/ex41 high-performance Intel® Core i7-6700 Quad-Core processor of the well-known Skylake architecture and 32 GB DDR4 RAM. Furthermore, two 4 TB SATA 6 Gb/s Enterprise HDDs are used. The price is $39.00 per month. This will be an ideal configuration to run Daminion Server for your scenario. You can contact me by phone (+1-888-2-80-60-99) if you wish to speak about your PC configuration in detail.
