Change Thumbnail Storage Directory

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I want to change the Directory the thumbnails are stored in. I tried changing it in the general catolog settings in the server administation panel but the thumbnails are still stored at the default location after I updated them. Is there any other way, maybe using the database, to change where the thumbnails are being stored?

Thanks, Yannik

Hello Yannik,

I've just test it in build 1481.

1. close the client

2. stop the Daminion server

3. select the catalog and enter the new thumbnail folder of this catalog

4. start server and client

now the thumbnails are created in the new folder of this catalog

Regards, Uwe

Hi Uwe,

I followed the steps you provided and it seems to have worked, though the size of the directory is only about 50MB (there are about 25000 files, mostly .cr2 and .ai files, in this catalog). This seems to be very little so I am wondering if it really worked correctly? I will try to update every thumbnail and see if anything changes.

Thanks, Yannik

As the update of the thumbnails is progressing, the size of the directory is increasing.

Thanks for the quick solution, Yannik
