Sylvain M.
Hello, Our main catalog, imported from an Expression Media catalog, is mainly classified hierarchically in "collections". For various reasons, we would like to transfer these collections into "categories" (same hierarchical structure). Obviously, we could do this manually, collection (and sub-collection) per collection / sub-collection. But if an automatic method exist (such as script), it would save us a lot of time. Thanks for your advices. Sylvain M.
Uwe
Hello Sylvain, I didn't find a token in Daminion to do it but using the ExifTool works. You can use the command line "-XMP:SupplementalCategories Regards, Uwe
Sylvain M.
Thanks for your proposition, I know very little about use of ExifTools (although I know his power). Before I started to look in that direction, do you think that this command will work with more than 50,000 photos?
Uwe
Sure, I use the ExifToolGUI to work with the Exiftool. Just to get a "feeling" about the performance you should select at first some of your files. The command line has to be entered here: Regards, Uwe
Murat
Depending from your catalog size, you can also try to export your catalog into CSV. Then import it into a new server catalog. In the mapping options you can select Collections > Categories.
Jerry45ramos
It would be better if doing so by moving them into categories.
Alexius
Right. We'll think about it...
