Linking images in a stack

I run today in a small issue with the linking. I had one JPG image in a folder A and the RAW image in folder B. In the folder B there was also the a JPG of the image (a different crop) and I had stacked the JPG on top of the RAW.

When I tried to link the RAW to the JPG in folder A, it didn't work. I couldn't open the stack while I was in the middle of the linking. If I finished the linking and opened the stack, then the top JPG was selected. When I navigated back to folder A to start the linking and returned to folder B, the stack was automatically closed. I tried to do the linking via the tray, but the linking functionality was not available to items on tray.

The workaround I found was to start from the RAW and select the other tab "Where this item is linked to" and start linking from there. Then I could navigate to folder A and select the JPG there.
