Sedat
The preview quality in Daminion is compared to other viewers (Lightroom, ACDSee), a bit too soft. Vertical lines or edges across the image are becomming sort of stairs. Is this because of a high compression rate? Will it be possible in near future to set a custom compression rate to raise the preview quality? I uploadet two crops of the same image viewed at fit to screen at 1920x1080. Murat
I suspect that you are comparing 2 RAW images, that contain built-in JPEG previous with smaller size than corresponding original RAW files. This issue is existed in our feature list. Daminion doesn't render RAW images, because each RAW editor interprets them on its own way, but instead displays the built-in JPEG previews. Unfortunately some cameras store JPEG previews of a smaller size than original files, so Daminion enlarge them according to the "parent's" original sizes. Sedat
I suspect that you are comparing 2 RAW images No I am talking about Jpegs. Sorry, I should had to mention that earlier. Meanwhile I found out that, this "stairs" effect appears stronger on smaller Jpegs of about 3MP. 12MP or 16MP images are looking better. But the overall lack of sharpness is evident through all Jpeg sizes. I compared the images with Daminion, ACDSee, MediaPro and Lightroom. The same Jpeg looks perfect on ACDSee and Media Pro. Lightroom is a little bit softer but still okay but as I said, Daminions preview is far too soft. edit: I´ve attached a screenshot of a 16MP jpeg file which was viewed at fit to screen (ca. 21%) with ACDSee and Daminion.
