RalphU
I upgraded from 8.4 to 9.0 and got these errors: ---- Catalog: NetCatalog - Media Store Folder cannot be the same as Auto Import Folder ----------------------------------- Initialize---- Catalog: NetCatalog - Media Store Folder cannot be the same as Auto Import Folder vid Service.WCF.ServerService.DaminionService.Initialize(ServiceBase service, EventLog eventlog, String serviceName, String configPath, Boolean consoleMode) i C:\Daminion\code Since I cannot start Server, I cannot change settings for the Catalog. Daria Kotilainen
Hi Ralph, please start Notepad as administrator, click on Open and open the "catalogs.config" file located in the Daminion server installation directory, Change the dropFolder= parameter and save the changes. Please let me know how it helps.
RalphU
It doesn't seem to help. This is my config: mediaStorePath="G:\OneDrive\Daminionmedia" dropFolder="G:\OneDrive\Daminiondrop" folderTemplate="" filenameTemplate="" thumbnailsStorePath="G:\OneDrive\ThumbnailsDaminion" videoStorePath="G:\OneDrive\VideoPrwDaminion" videoStorePathNew=""
Daria Kotilainen
Hi Ralph, Daminion should not prevent you from using different subfolder of the same folder for Upload and Drop folders... Would you like to schedule a remote session to troubleshoot? Daria
RalphU
Daria, the problem is that I cannot start the server. If the server is stopped, I cannot edit Catalog settings. It looks like I have to downgrade to 8.4, fix the problem and then upgrade again. Is there a way to dowhgrade?
Daria Kotilainen
Hi Ralph, You can edit the parameters by opening the catalogs.config in Notepad started as administrator. Let's schedule a remote TeamViewer session and I will help you out. Kind regards, Daria
RalphU
Problem solved! Sorry to have bothered you with this, Daria. I edited the wrong file - seems I had one in Program Files and one in Program(x86).
Daria Kotilainen
Hi Ralph, glad it is sorted out! Yep, following the upgrade to a 64bit version, the installation directory of the server is now in Program Files by default. Apologies for the confusion!
