Uwe
Hello, I have hierarchical tags whose total length is correctly stored in the tag XMP:HierarchicalSubject, but not in full length by Daminion in the tag IPTC:Keywords (the string is truncated). The ExifTool command: "-IPTC:Keywords<xmp:HierarchicalSubject" generates the following message: "Warning: [Minor] IPTC:Keywords exceeds length limit (truncated)" and also truncates the string. With the command: "-IPTC:Keywords<xmp:HierarchicalSubject -m" you can suppress the warning and the ExifTool saves the tag in full length. Wikipedia: Any number of keywords, each max. 64 characters long, also with spaces (https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/IPTC-IIM-Standard#IPTC-Felder) But here (6.16. Keywords) is no limitation described: https://www.iptc.org/std/photometadata/specification/IPTC-PhotoMetadata#keywords What is the right thing to do here - cut it off or save it in full length? Example: XMP:HierarchicalSubject: original, Karte|Bild, Ereignis|Tag der offenen Gärten und Höfe|Tag der offenen Gärten und Höfe 2017, Foto|Sonntagsbuch|Sonntagsbuch 2017 IPTC:Keywords: original, Karte|Bild, Ereignis|Tag der offenen Gärten und Höfe|Tag der offenen Gärt, Foto|Sonntagsbuch|Sonntagsbuch 2017 Regards, Uwe Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)
