This is network path.

Plus dng files usually have not small size.

Processing files over network goes with a delay:

20060521_181045.dng -> (get file over network) daminion server -> processing file -> (save file over network) 20060521_181045.dng

Hello,

 

the copy of such a file (20MB) using e.g. Windows Explorer, etc. is done in less than 500ms. The LAN = 1Gbit/sec, the NAS works with > 100MB/sec.

 

There are other reasons.
