rene
Hey Murat, I tagged pictures in Picasa. my Picasa Version is 3.8 In Picasa I checked the box to write people names into the files: When I'm closing Picasa and open Daminion and hit "read tags from file" the names are not imported. thanks rene btw: is it possible to read tags from file, while working with Daminion or closing the Software? Why can't this be done in background?

Why can't this be done in background? I remember that when I tried the new Picasa version the first time, Daminion imported the names. After I turned on that "Write people names into the files" switch in Picasa, there were no names anymore. I tried to turn it off but no change, the names were missing. Maybe a new Picasa install solves the problem? I don't know, there are too many images in there now, I can't try it. Regards, mammut
rene
Hey Mammut, this issue meanwhile has been solved. Newer Versions of Picasa above 3.8 are not compatible with Daminion. Daminion can only import Pictures from the picasa.ini-files, not from the files itself.
Mammut
Ah, I see. Okay, I was away for a while, I didn't know. But Daminion could import the names from the MWG Region Name tag.
rene
I can't confirm that, but I guess Murat can. At least, he told me, that Daminion can only read from the picasa.ini-files and not from the in file tags.
