Feature Request - Customize "Description" Box

Hello Everyone,

 

I'm still trying to determine the fastest way to tag photos - and it seems like the right side of the screen could be ideal - particularly the "Description" area.

 

I'd like the ability to "re-order" (that is change the order) of the different items within the Description area.

 

I'd like more abilities to customize the "Catalog Tags" appear in the "Description" area to specifically include sub-parts of a "Catalog Tag." That would give incredible flexibility.

 

For example, a healthy portion of my collection is made up of digital versions of historical items (scanned birth certificates, scanned photographs, scanned newspaper articles, etc.) and I try to associate dates with them.

 

I would like to have a key category of mine appear here in the Description area:

Verification

-- Approximate/Estimated

-- Exact

-- Noted on Media

 

I hope that makes sense. Companies would surely appreciate this too - if they want every photo to get an assignment for a specific area, this would be a place to make it easy.

 

On the same thought - how about Tree Items (parents?) that you CANNOT assign an image to. For example, in my "Verification" tree above, I always assign my images to one of the three items - and NEVER to "Verification" itself... Of course, it'd be nice to have an area for "UnAssigned" for this area also - that way I can skim through images that haven't been assigned one of these designations and handle them.

 

Likewise, it'd be nice to be able to adjust the order of things in the created categories. For example, under "People," I love that there is an "Unassigned" group so I can skim images and associate them with the proper people... but my tag for "None" (as in, "There are no people in this image") is alphabetically midway though the names list. I'd love to be able to make it an exception from the default "alphabetical sort" so it appears right under "Unassigned."

If you'll create a Custom Tag named "Verification" from Catalog > Custom Tags... menu you can't assign images to the root "Verification" tag and you'll see "UnAssigned" value inside the "Verification" tag.
