orianmarx
Hi. I've noticed that adding video files to my Daminion catalog is not working properly if I choose to have the files renamed / stored by date. It seems to be using the creation date of the files (which is generally when the files were copied to disk) rather than the original write time of the file (which would be the time the video was actually shot). Right now I'm using another program to re-write the file creation times based off the original write times before importing, which works but is obviously tedious. Can this be confirmed / fixed? Thanks.
Murat
This is a dilemma: because in case of the images the File Modified Date changes after each file editing. I believe that file were copied to the disk outside of the Daminion? In Daminion we added options to preserve File Creation date into the Camera Downloader and Export unit. orianmarx
Yeah I'm referring to files that were already copied to disk some time in the past. Daminion seems to want to use the timestamp of when they were copied to disk rather than when they were originally shot. I am using the "Add files..." workflow. Murat
It's because we don't know when video was shot without the file metadata itself. Both file creation and file modified dates might be wrong: - If you'll copy the file the File creation date will be lost - If you'll edit the file the File modified date will be lost
