Mel
I would suggest a future option to split and merge catalogs. How I see it: There's one large catalog with all my photos. With this option I can split it and extract a set of files maintaining the whole Daminion db structure - tags, etc. Such extracted catalog together with its files lands on a fast SSD drive where all edits and updates takes seconds, not hours. And merge with "master" catalog after job done is self-explanatory. -- M.L.
Murat
You can move files from the first catalog to the second one.

acorn
But... how? -- M.L. Hi M.L. -- transferring files between catalogs Download two or more catalogs into Daminion Select one or more files from the first catalog. Right click a highlighted thumbnail. Select 'Move to' from the menu which opens -- this then displays the filepaths of the other catalog(s) Click on the filepath of the destination catalog to transfer the file(s) --- you are asked to confirm this. As a second option you can also find the 'move to' command in the main 'ITEM' menu Hope this helps -- I am using Daminion 4.0 (1213) desktop version P.S. There does not appear to be a 'Copy to' catalog command which would let you retain the chosen files in the source catalog.
Mel
Hi M.L. -- transferring files between catalogs Download two or more catalogs into Daminion Select one or more files from the first catalog. ... Thanks. Unfortunately, the flag/reject selection is lost during move so this is not a good solution. There's a menu item File > Import > Daminion Local Catalog (grayed out, I cannot verify what's for) so the logical counterpart would be "Export selected files to new catalog" with all tags in place.
