Laster
Hello, Thank you for a nice software. I wonder if it's possible to disable the creation of thumbnails (~Thumbs-folder)? All I want is the DaminionCatalog.dmc so I can search for keywords, ratings etc. Br /Laster
Murat
Nope, you can't turn this option off. But what's the reason for this? It drastically decreases the speed of displaying thumbnails on the second time. And even Windows Explorer creates thumbs.db files in each folder when you view images in thumbmnail mode. Laster
I definitely understand the benefits of having thumbnails for quick display, but for some of my catalogs that I rarely open it become lots of wasted space on my SSD. When I open that kind of catalog I usually just want to filter out some images by keywords and open them in another program. If I had the option to disable creation of thumbnails I also assume it would be much faster to create a database with only keywords included (which is my only purpose sometimes). I don't use Windows Explorer and never get any thumbs.db generated (using Total Commander instead). Br /Laster
Murat
I can suggest you 2 workarounds: 1. Switch to the Details Mode and remove the ~Thumbs folder. 2. Or create a symbolic link from your SSD ~Thumbs folder to a folder on your HDD. So it will not occupy additional disk space on your SSD.
