Russell
Hi Murat and Team, I just turned on the AutoRescan feature to try it out - and it removed over 50,000 images from my catalog, presumably because the drives where the images are stored were spun down. I wasn't home when this update happened (it is possible that there was a network issue or something else, I don't know). Not sure what I'm expecting, but I was surprised to have lost so many images from my collection - and I know it will take some considerable time for Daminion to add them all back in. Thanks, Russell

Your catalog has auto backup copies with names like "DaminionCatalog_backup020.dm~" as I understand. And you should have backup of all important data at external places (another computer, NAS, internet, etc.).
Murat
Hi Russell, If you'll send us your Database dump or your local catalog file we can try to restore deleted items. We can improve Auto-Rescan Folders feature and don't remove files from the catalog if the root drive or root network location is not accessible. Russell
Hi Murat, I appreciate the offer to work on my database, but I decided to move to a new machine anyway - so I just did a fresh install and everything is beautiful (except the lack of PSB support). If Daminion could check that root folder (or set of root folders), that would be greatly beneficial to me. I have more than one root folder, like this: \\server\photos\ \\server\panoramics\ \\server\archivedimages\ Thanks, Russell
Murat
We fixed an issue with removing offline unmounted drives by rescan. However the latest 981 became ineffectual due to a few bugs, so let's wait till the next build.
montonero
I think removing of orphaned thumbnails is not a bad idea. Daminion just should ask permission from the user about such actions.
