AutoRescan Issue

Hi Murat and Team,

I just turned on the AutoRescan feature to try it out - and it removed over 50,000 images from my catalog, presumably because the drives where the images are stored were spun down. I wasn't home when this update happened (it is possible that there was a network issue or something else, I don't know).

Not sure what I'm expecting, but I was surprised to have lost so many images from my collection - and I know it will take some considerable time for Daminion to add them all back in.

Thanks,

Russell

Your catalog has auto backup copies with names like "DaminionCatalog_backup020.dm~" as I understand.

And you should have backup of all important data at external places (another computer, NAS, internet, etc.).

Hi Murat,

I appreciate the offer to work on my database, but I decided to move to a new machine anyway - so I just did a fresh install and everything is beautiful (except the lack of PSB support).

If Daminion could check that root folder (or set of root folders), that would be greatly beneficial to me. I have more than one root folder, like this:

\\server\photos\

\\server\panoramics\

\\server\archivedimages\

Thanks,

Russell
