No thumbnails or conversion other than from JPEG with 7.0 PRO standalone

Hi!

I've been using Daminion standalone PRO for several years now an overall, I am happy with it. Lately, I encountered a problem. I began somewhen with the latest 6.x version (a rather current one) and I thought it might have been fixed in 7.0. Now I am running  7.0.2457 and the problem still exists:

Daminion no longer creates thumbnails or previews from TIF, EPS etc., with JPEG images it works just fine. Export to JPG from (e.g.) TIF with conversion to JPEG also doesn't work and thows an error:

First, I suspected it could be spaces in file/path names and tried with very simple names/paths, but got the same error message.
