  1. Hey guys !!! Imagine my horror when I messed up my categories by moving a branch in the keyword tree by mistake ... I also had Auto Sync on so Daminion promptly started to update the files... Can we have an option to turn on / off "Move Confirmation" in the catalog tags panel? And maybe a clear sync queue / rollback option? We are human and need Daminion to be forgiving of our mistakes... Dean
  2. Is there any way that this can be an option in a settings panel so we can test it? It's hard to guess what it will be like on my system. I understand that the less memory available to the system, the less responsive the system and Daminion will be... PS I would upgrade my RAM any time to get better performance and a setting option should solve performance issues for people who have systems with less memory available...
  3. I also feel that this is an area where the user experience can be improved and to be fair I have posted on this topic before... I understand that design considerations (server load in multi-user environment & optimising queries) made this necessary but I feel that the application should then buffer the entire result set to thumbnail cache. At present only approx. 200 images are cached and the result set is handled as a virtual list (only loading images when the thumbnail controls are rendered in the UI). The user experience would be improved if the entire result set is fetched by t
  4. Sorry Murat, F3 And F4 is rotate left / right... F11 is a universal full screen key... but we are using that to switch views... Maybe when all the technical design and coding issues are solved we can all look at a layout of a 101 keyboard and group related functions into groups of adjacent keys... Adding them 1 at a time is going to frustrate your development team...
  5. I think this conflicts with the "Flag / Reject" keyboard short cut, which is also F. Daminion does not respond to the F or X key to flag / reject (version 583). Click and Ctrl + click still works for flag / reject...
  6. OK, so I am all for making my life easier and finding easier ways to do repetitive things and tasks. Selecting tags are one of these tasks that is greatly simplified by key press + click combinations. We are already using this when holding down Crtl key and Ctrl + Alt keys to select multiple tags. Can we use the Shift key in the same way to make the "without subtag" selection easier and not to have to open right click menu every time...? I would love to hear what other Daminion testers think ! Please see below where I have listed the 5 types of selection behaviours. Please note
  7. Daminion-0.9.5.562 Bug not fixed... See screenshot after folder scan...
  8. I renamed files and did a folder re-scan. This is when I encountered the duplicate folder tags in the catalog.

    Scan Folders

I was testing the Rescan Folders Feature: It creates duplicates in the same folder... I also feel that if a folder is empty, the rescan feature should remove it...
  10. I agree with all the above. Maybe assigning a key combination like "Shift + Click" and "Shift + Alt + Click" for sub-folder operations...?
  11. Excellent question !!! I also want to know the answer...
  12. It happens when we select multiple folder groups for categorisation. I wish I could give you a benchmark (like saying it happens when you select 20 folders or something like that) but I can't. The queries are more likely to time out when: More than one user is connected Other background tasks like Auto Sync or import is also running Queries increase in complexity The SQL queries' complexity can be reduced by assigning categories (or other non-folder tags) to groups of images... This worked for me. You are right - it is an issue with folder tags...
  13. I would personally never import from csv... Other users might...
  14. Hi guys Can we please on the export option get an option to export the result set (details view) to CSV format?
  15. Where can I increase the time that SQL queries have to execute? When executing queries (2 users) the server times out and does not return any results...
  16. ALSO: You can only select one saved search at a time. You can not: select multiple saved searches select saved searches with other tags This kills my workaround as a solution...
  17. Great. I have also noticed that this is a problem in the renaming utility after you pointed me in the right direction. Thanks for you trouble and sorry for wasting your time... MEA CULPA
  18. You can sort by folder: switch to list view and then add your "folder" column. Click the column header to sort and switch back to thumbnail view... Hope this helps...
  19. So I have uploaded a screen recording to FTP folder. Check it out. Note how the dates differ... When I capture files from camera, we try to (if the EXIF date is present) include it in the filename as a safe gaurd against software that strips meta data on resizing. I include a folder of images from this date. Maybe you can help me to see if there is an issue with Daminion of maybe on my side...
  20. I will record this process for your information on Monday when I get back to the office. I mean the EXIF field that the camera writes when the image is taken. Date/Time Digitised is overwritten when data is synced with the file. I suspect that the date/time modified value is written to the date/time digitised property in error during the sync process.
  21. Yes they do. I don't select the parent folder because it also contains hundreds of other folder that I do not wish to include in the search... This is a workable option, taking the long way home. I could save parts of my query as saved searches and select all of them to achieve the desired result. THIS IS NOT PRODUCTIVE (TAKES LONG TIME TO DO) VS just selecting tags... --- Thanks for your suggestions, unfortunately they do not address the issue I have raised (screen real estate). --- Maybe I suggest a simple feature request. On the upcoming settings panel (I remember s
  22. I have recently started noticing that the EXIF dates in images that have had meta data synced back to files have been overwritten with the current date / time at the time of the sync. Is this just me ?
  23. Is there a way to show / hide this panel (see screen capture below). When one selects a lot of criteria this panel occupies a lot of real estate on the screen. BTW the same information is displayed in the Advanced Search Window. Can we have this panel in a pop-out panel (like when you mouse over a "hot area" below the toolbar) or in it's own panel (like the catalog tags panel or properties panel) where it can be docked accoring to user preferences? Just a thought...
  24. Auto Sync being on or off does not impact the tag assigning. It is slow in both cases..I don't think you understand what I am suggesting...I am suggesting that assigning tags and the program GUI should use asynchronous processes. At the moment the assigning tags call is made and runs on the same thread as the main GUI. This means that the main GUI can not be used while tag assigning is in progress. There is a modal dialog that prevents access to the GUI until the tag assigning is complete (100%). I suggest that assigning tags run in the background so that we (busy users) can continue working
