	Hi there!
</p>

<p>
	Giving a try to the AI Auto-tagging feature but I cannot seem to get any tagging <span><span class="ipsEmoji">😞</span></span>
</p>

<p>
	<span>I've enabled it here:</span>
</p>

<p>
	<a class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image" data-fileext="png" data-fileid="2994" href="https://forum.daminion.net/uploads/monthly_2026_02/image.png.d2a6cc34a2d2bfb051bd9ebea2d8d622.png" rel=""><img alt="image.thumb.png.8b2e917719f92d4aeaf054af51b1b3e6.png" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" data-fileid="2994" data-ratio="68.60" width="1000" src="https://forum.daminion.net/uploads/monthly_2026_02/image.thumb.png.8b2e917719f92d4aeaf054af51b1b3e6.png" /></a>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	And selected AI Tagging over a couple of images, the first time I received a message saying something about the file being added to a queue. The popup window required to check the "don't show again" option to be able to close it so I checked it and don't see it anymore.
</p>

<p>
	Do you know where to view that queue to see if something is getting stuck?
</p>

<p>
	<a class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image" data-fileext="png" data-fileid="2995" href="https://forum.daminion.net/uploads/monthly_2026_02/image.png.57add110fcc63934726676f38457c2b7.png" rel=""><img alt="image.thumb.png.65c2869bd6dbd9ee7f147baaa47b2a9d.png" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" data-fileid="2995" data-ratio="123.76" width="606" src="https://forum.daminion.net/uploads/monthly_2026_02/image.thumb.png.65c2869bd6dbd9ee7f147baaa47b2a9d.png" /></a>

<p>
	The key I created in openai.com looks like this:

<p>
	<a class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image" data-fileext="png" data-fileid="2996" href="https://forum.daminion.net/uploads/monthly_2026_02/image.png.dfe40b6133591ef010f248c2bbfbc405.png" rel=""><img alt="image.thumb.png.d5d6048e20a32681ce33498b5a7ed25d.png" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" data-fileid="2996" data-ratio="28.90" width="1000" src="https://forum.daminion.net/uploads/monthly_2026_02/image.thumb.png.d5d6048e20a32681ce33498b5a7ed25d.png" /></a>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Am I probably missing something I should enable? BTW, not using the Faces recognition feature yet so I do not have it installed.
</p>

<p>
	Thanks for any ideas!

<p><span style="font-size:10px;">We only have a licence for three concurrent users. We find that sometimes a user may stop using the program, but leave it open on their computer. This often keeps other users from logging in.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:10px;">I would like to see a system setting that the administers can set the number of inactivity minutes before a user would be automatically logged out by Daminion. This would really be a great help to us. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:10px;">As it is, Daminion doesn't seem to have any way to tell the administrators what users are logged in. Having inactive accounts automatically logged out would be preferable to emailing all the users to see who can log out. Sometimes a user is gone for the day, leaving their computer running, and therefore no way to log them out if they are in a different location than I am.</span></p>

	I am long time Daminion home user, currently still have version 7. Thinking to update to newer version, has been a little bit confusing <span><span class="ipsEmoji">🙂</span> with price, but it is another story, for another thread...</span>
</p>

<p>
	<span>Here is a technical prospective - I have downloaded the latest Daminion v10.5.0 (build 3797), install it on brand new computer, have not entered any license information so, it works as a demo, and start playing with few thousand photos to try new features... Just in case - License Management screenshot is attached, picture <strong>#0</strong>. After short playing with it I see 3 (!) problems, which I have never seen on my old Daminion version... Below is the list of problems I have noticed...<br />
	<br />
	<strong>1) Problem with GPS, it loses Longitude.</strong><br />
	See attached screenshots <strong>#1</strong>,<strong>#2</strong>,<strong>#3</strong><br />
	Screenshot #1: Photo with already missed Longitude, from previous attempts.<br />
	Screenshot #2: After have set the coordinates and perform Write Tags to File.<br />
	Screenshot #3: After make Read Tags from File. Latitude is there, but Longitude is missing again...<br />
	I am using Nikon NEF files (camera is Z8), with JPG seems like it works OK.<br />
	I am using setting "Write tags into EXIF/IPTC/XMP", have not tried with different setting. <br />
	All photos are located on the same Windows 11 computer in local folder.</span>
</p>

<p>
	<strong>2) Problem with saving search name.</strong><br />
	I have tried to make a Saved Search for photos with missing Longitude.<br />
	Search is working correct, but when I saved it with the name "Broken GPS", it appears under "Saved Searches" with a wrong name "With GEO tags". Edit search window shows correct name, see screenshot <strong>#4</strong>. Attempt to rename this search also shows correct name, see picture <strong>#5</strong>, but click on any location returns to show wrong name.
</p>

<p>
	<strong>3) Cosmetic (?) problem showing the F-nu</strong><strong>mber for movies (.mov and .mp4 files)</strong>, see picture <strong>#6</strong>.<br />
	<br />
	I see this forum is not so active so I have to ask is Daminion development still alive?
</p>

<p>
	p.s. Sorry for mixed order of attached pictures, cannot arrange them in proper order...

	Hello,<br>
	I have reported several errors here in the forum (and also directly to Daminion). Unfortunately, these have not been corrected for several years/builds:
</p>

<ul>
	<li>
		Incorrect handling of the altitude tag when it has decimal places (as recorded by Garmin). This causes the metadata in the file to be incorrect: e.g. 100.5 m becomes 1005 m.
	</li>
	<li>
		Error in the ‘copy tags’ function: the tags Creation Date Time, Title and Description are not copied from the source file to the destination file.
	</li>
	<li>
		Different handling of the camera tag, which means that, for example, photos from the ‘Canon 5D MK III’ are assigned and counted under the tag “Canon” as a sub-tag, or a tag ‘Canon 5D MKIII’ is created on the same level as ‘Canon’.
	</li>
	<li>
		Now new in build 3797, MP4 files are not imported correctly and a thumbnail representing a corrupt file appears.
	</li>
</ul>

<p>
	Etc.<br>
	Now my request, since Daminion claims that all these errors are isolated incidents and no one else, especially corporate customers, is affected: <br>
	Who else has noticed such errors besides me?
</p>

<p>
	I have been using Daminion for about 15 years, even before the first 1.0 version, and I am still a big fan of the software.
</p>

<p>
	I look forward to your response.<br>
	Thank you, Uwe

	What I don't understand is the content of the ‘content’ table. The content there comes from the full-text search of the content of PDF documents, not from the metadata tags. I didn't want the contents of documents to be indexed. Have I forgotten/made a mistake in any of the settings? How can I prevent future indexing of document content? It's okay for the metadata. And how can I delete the contents of the ‘content’ table without affecting the functionality of Daminion – using the SQL delete command?<br>

<p>
	Hello,
</p>

<p>
	I've inserted the scanner information by ExifTool (Open with... action) and imported this information by "Read Tags from file". These items are not assigned to the already existing camera tag (Canon-&gt;CanoScan LiDE700F) - it creates a new tag on the root level of the camera tags.
</p>

<p>
	<a class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image" data-fileext="jpg" data-fileid="1820" href="https://forum.daminion.net/uploads/monthly_08_2017/post-846-0-84734200-1502969048.jpg" rel=""><img alt="Daminion_1682_camera_tag.jpg" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" data-fileid="1820" src="https://forum.daminion.net/uploads/monthly_08_2017/post-846-0-84734200-1502969048_thumb.jpg"></a>
</p>

<p>
	Then I remove these items from the catalog and import them again by Resan Folders. Now the items are assigned to the already existing camera tag (Canon-&gt;CanoScan LiDE700F).
</p>

<p>
	Why do "Read Tags from file" and "Rescan Folders" are working differently? Bug?
</p>

<p>
	Regards, Uwe

	Dear Community,  <br />
	I am experiencing an issue with the photo labeling workflow. In the past, the numeric key “0” was consistently used to remove an assigned color label from selected images. However, the function has recently changed, and pressing “0” now designates all currently labeled images as “Favorites” instead.  <br />

	These appear to be read, because the marker for the MP4 file's geodata is active on the map. However, the geodata for MP4 files is not displayed in the Properties panel.<br>
	Geo data belongs to the “Image” section in the Properties panel. Is this the reason why it is not displayed?

	My Daminion was running fine since years. Recently, I tried to connect via the html URL and got the error message shown at the bottom of this posting
</p>

<p>
	I then clicked on "Erneut Installieren" (something like re-install) right from the "IIS: Installiert (Version 10.0)" Information line in the server settings.
</p>

<p>
	Since that, my daminion client does not start any more. Server is up and running on the same computer, but nothing happens when I try to start the client. No werror message. Just nothing. I already tried to re-install client and server without success. Any Idea?
</p>

	I have recently observed situation when Daminion gets to work very slow, I would actually say - extremely slow, screen update takes minutes. It has never happened before, but during last month I have observer this problem already multiple times. It happened not all the time, seems like problem appears when I do some search, especially using Saved Search. Seems like it never happens when I do just tag assignments. When it happens - it actually slows down not only Daminion, but the whole computer becomes very slow. <span>Have performed Catalog -&gt; Optimize from Daminion menu, seems like it was not helpful.</span><br />
	<br />
	My configuration:<br />
	I am a private user (Home Server License, one concurrent user), using Daminion for 10 years, since 2015<br />
	I am active photographer hobbyist, my family members are also hobbyists-photographers, so my catalog is kind of big <span><span class="ipsEmoji">🙂</span> - 370K+ photos.<br />
	But I am the only one who is tagging photos, so I am the only one user of Daminion. I keep all photos on the Synology NAS, Daminion is on my computer so, Daminion is accessing photos over the network (wired gigabit). My computer is under Windows 11 Pro, 32GB RAM, 4TB SSD drive. Network works good enough, no problem with other applications. Daminion version is 7.8.0 (build 2900), have updated the license in 2021. Yes, I know, version is old, but I am ok with set of features of this version. And maintenance period is, of course, expired, so I have no free updates anymore <span class="ipsEmoji">😞</span>. <br />
	<br />
	Are there any suggestions, recommendations?</span>
</p>

	Hi everyone,
</p>

<p>
	I encountered an issue today while uploading new photos. My usual process is:
</p>

<p>
	Place photos in a folder on the drive.
</p>

<p>
	Click Resync or Auto-Resync.
</p>

<p>
	However, this time, Daminion only synced 63 out of 300+ photos and got stuck for over 4 hours—the rest never processed.
</p>

<p>
	Additional question:<br />
	What does "Unsynced" mean in Saved Searches? Is it related to this issue? there I have something like 30000
</p>

<p>
	Any insights or fixes would be appreciated!
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	thank you

	Dear Daminon Users,
</p>

<p>
	I have a question regarding color labels:
</p>

<p>
	We use color labels to organize photos—for example:
</p>

<p>
	Brown (8): Marks photos for deletion
</p>

<p>
	Red (1): Indicates photos to be ordered in A4 format
</p>

<p>
	While these labels are visible in the web browser, they don’t appear in the Windows client. Is this a known limitation, or is there a setting to enable this feature?

	Hi there,
</p>

<p>
	It’s been a while since I last worked with photos, and I’ve just started again—but I’ve run into a few issues with duplicate detection.
</p>

<p>
	Duplicate Display Behavior<br />
	When I click "Show Duplicates," I expected to see one image followed by its suggested duplicates. Instead, it shows various unrelated images. Is this the intended behavior, or should it group duplicates together?
</p>

<p>
	Advanced Duplicate Sorting<br />
	Would it be possible to implement more refined duplicate handling? For example:
</p>

<p>
	Prioritizing larger files: If duplicates differ in size (dimensions or file size), display the larger version first—especially useful for scanned analog images where higher resolution is preferable.
</p>

<p>
	File type prioritization: When duplicates include different formats (e.g., RAW + JPEG), show the original RAW file first, followed by derived formats like JPEG.
</p>

<p>
	This would make managing duplicates much more efficient. Are these features already available, or could they be added in the future?
</p>

<p>
	Thanks for your help!
